TFR 85: Song of the Sea and the State of 2D Animation

In this week’s episode, we give lip service to a great (largely overlooked) Irish animated film, Song of the Sea. As Celtic as they come, this great film by the director of The Secret of Kells tells the story of Saoirse (not at all pronounced how it’s spelled) and her brother as they search for a magic coat. As we recount the film, we’ll also dive into what exactly happened to 2D theatrical animation after 2000. Come join us as we talk this magical film!
